“100,000 Buckeyes for a Cure”
Written by InvoKause on September 27, 2009 – 8:31 pm -The Stefanie Spielman Fund has teamed up with Invokause, a nonprofit organization specializing in creative programs for community causes. This partnership has yielded a ground-breaking program which will produce the world’s largest buckeye necklace while more importantly raising awareness and funds towards breast cancer research.
The Buckeyes For A Cure program will sell individual buckeyes through this site for $2.50 each. A significant portion of each buckeye sold will go directly to the Stefanie Spielman Fund. These buckeyes are hand-picked, sequentially numbered, and strung to the necklace each time one is sold. Those who purchase a buckeye will be able to view a picture of their numbered buckeye on the buckeyesforacure.com site in the “participants” section.
Once the program has concluded the necklace will be accessible for public viewing in an 8-foot Block-O display. Details of this location will emerge once a final agreement is in place. For additional information about this program please visit the FAQ section of the buckeyesforacure.com website.
The goal is to construct a necklace consisting of 100,00 buckeyes, which will span a mile and a half long end to end!
Each participant will not only have helped in building the world’s largest buckeye necklace, but more importantly they will have participated in a cause that desperately needs all of our help.
